We believe that your experience with a psychologist should be a helpful one, no matter how many sessions you have. Our approach is client centred, meaning that you are the most important part of the process. We believe that each client is unique and has their own resources and strengths, so we tailor your psychological treatment plan to meet your individual needs. We also use a trauma informed approach which focusses on improving an individual’s all round wellness rather than simply treating symptoms of mental illness. At psychAbility we use a range of treatment methods. Some of the methods include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Solutions Focussed Therapy, Mindfulness. We may use elements from all of these therapies to best suit your needs.
We offer psychological assessment and treatment via a range of programs so that clients can have options when exploring/managing their treatment needs.
We all have difficulties in our lives from time to time. Psychological treatment can be short term or longer term – what suits you will depend on the reasons that you’re seeking psychological treatment. Many concerns can be managed with 3-10 sessions with a psychologist. Some people will require longer term treatment.
